Campus Science Hills Bratislava – Concept Study of Completion and Revitalization, Bratislava

We designed a "face" for the entire Bratislava Science Campus. The existing university space has an expansive character with abundant greenery but lacks a vibrant internal social life. There are no functionally utilized public spaces or a clearly defined urban hierarchy that would include both generous open areas and intimate, smaller-scale zones.

The campus lacks a clearly defined center with a specific function and composition. Connectivity with other parts of the city is insufficient, as is the permeability of the campus, which would facilitate its integration into the broader urban structure. Additionally, there are no visible and easily recognizable entrances and access points that would be memorable.
The proposed urban and landscape concept, as part of the first phase of the study, offers a comprehensive view of the key challenges. The entire campus lacks a "face" or visual identity that would connect it to the wider urban context.
By overcoming these fundamental issues, the previously isolated and indistinct area will become a lively university campus that revitalizes social life. This space will connect academic activities with scientific research, entrepreneurial opportunities, and an attractive environment for Bratislava’s residents.
