Clinic of Infectious Diseases at FNHK, Hradec Králové
The new Clinic of Infectious Diseases (KIN) Pavilion integrates facilities from multiple clinics and departments, creating a modern and efficient medical center that meets the highest standards of care.

The project's goal is to strengthen Hradec Králové University Hospital in providing super-specialized and specialized care for over one million residents of the Hradec Králové, Pardubice, and parts of the Liberec and Vysočina regions. The new pavilion will enhance regional preparedness for epidemics, improve treatment for patients with severe or drug-resistant illnesses, and be ready for future epidemiological threats.
The architectural design is based on an equilateral triangle with a central atrium, optimizing the efficient circulation of space. One side of the pavilion runs parallel to Sokolská Street, while the other two extend into the hospital campus. The layout strategy places patient beds and the central nursing station in a way that minimizes walking distances for medical staff.
The pavilion is designed to meet strict hygiene requirements for preventing infections and ensuring the safety of patients, staff, and visitors. Outdoor walkways allow for the isolation of infected patients, reducing the risk of spreading diseases. By combining modern design with strict healthcare standards, the new pavilion optimizes operational efficiency while maintaining a high-quality healing environment.
