Eggenberg Brewery 2020, Český Krumlov
The former Eggenberg Brewery complex in Český Krumlov represents a unique historical site, and its revitalization aims to sensitively merge the past with new functions. The architectural study's goal is not only to preserve and restore valuable architectural elements but also to create a modern, functional space that respects the city's character. The proposed design integrates historical buildings with new development areas, enhancing the quality of this important location.

The historical complex consists of a closed block of Renaissance and Baroque buildings, alongside a more modern structure, each with its own specific character and function. The dominant wings, with their unique built-in drying rooms, are well-suited for a hotel or casino, while their vaulted ground floors are ideal for a wellness center. One of the buildings is designed as an independent medical facility, while smaller structures, including the former boiler house, will serve commercial purposes. The revitalization also includes a dedicated congress center and a new hotel complex, which will be connected to the historic buildings.
A key aspect of the proposal is the respect for historical architecture and the urban structure of Český Krumlov. The new buildings are inspired by traditional gabled houses with parallel roofs, typical of the historic city center, while a glass structure linking the hotel sections preserves visual transparency to the surrounding landscape and unites different functional areas of the complex. The overall concept creates a harmonious balance between the historical value of the site and its new uses, with newly defined courtyards, garden connections, and logical spatial organization ensuring a natural integration with the city's structure.
