Retirement Home at the Regional Hospital, Kladno
The project aimed to create an efficient and functional hospital building that ensured high-quality healthcare services and patient support, including follow-up care.
Key principles included: Well-organized medical operations and main circulation routes. Respecting functional zones and quiet areas for non-acute medical services. Integrating the new building with existing healthcare operations for seamless access without department overlaps. Creating dignified conditions for both patients and staff, meeting modern healthcare standards. Allowing room for future hospital expansion.

The architectural design is restrained yet striking, harmonizing with the surrounding buildings. The H-shaped layout allows for natural light in the central atrium and facilitates internal communication. The building is connected to the monoblock via corridors on the second and underground first floors.
Design elements include landscaped areas, a water feature, and visual downscaling through sloped terrain and greenery, seamlessly blending the building into its surroundings. Exposed concrete is a dominant material, complemented by green features like climbing plants. Materials and interiors were chosen for durability and easy maintenance. The color scheme is subdued, with white for calmer spaces and ceramic cladding on the facade. Interiors maximize natural light, creating a pleasant atmosphere for patients and staff.
